    FAQs

What method of therapy do you use for relationship counseling?

Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is a type of short-term therapy (usually 8-20 sessions). This approach is used to improve attachment and bonding in couple’s relationships. EFT is rooted in research on love as an attachment bond and is empirically validated with a 75% success rate. Emotionally focused therapy can benefit couples who are struggling with high conflict and emotional distress. EFT has been proven to be highly effective with couples dealing with infidelity, poor communication and traumatic incidents, past and present.

How will the sessions work for us? What do we have to do in the sessions?

Each session is structured for your personal relationship needs using EFT techniques. Based upon your relationship, we will use the time in sessions to navigate bringing resolution to distressing conflict, help you re-engage as a couple and build a covenant that you will both enjoy.

    How long will it take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

We want to get the most out of therapy. What can we do to make our relationship more successful?

You have already taken the first step to rebuilding your love affair.  Be open, vulnerable and eagerly anticipate the change your relationship needs by fully participating in the process.
