    About Adrian Turner

How would I describe myself as a therapist? Our typical therapist buzzwords are compassionate, a good listener, warm and non-judgmental. Sure, I am all of those things. But I first describe myself as GRATEFUL. I understand how difficult it is to walk into a room with a complete stranger and hope that they will be easy to talk to and willing to hear about the most intimate parts of your life. For that, I am grateful. From the first interaction with a person to the very last, I want people to know that I thank them for sharing the gift of their presence with me. It isn’t something I deserve, but I am thankful when people find me worthy of that trust.

I love to approach relationships with the attachment theory in mind. My training as an Emotionally Focused Therapist is valuable because it cements my true feelings about all of us in our humanity: we need connection. We need to be loved. We need to be understood. We want someone to believe that we are special to them. Helping clients get to a willingness to be open to the vulnerability of love is what I thoroughly enjoy. My practice, Our Covenant Matters, helps couples become people who are living the love experiences that they truly desire and committed to with their partner. The blessing of therapy is that you have a supportive person that will encourage you to face the challenges in life with confidence. Trust yourself and the strength of your relationship to keep the promises you made to one another. Covenant matters. Let me show you how to make it matter in your relationship.

    My Values

    Confidentiality

I understand how difficult it is to be raw and exposed to a total stranger. That said, what is said in our sessions stay in our sessions. Your privacy is of utmost importance to me.

    Healing

So many of us are going through life wounded and unsure of how to take the steps to move our love lives forward. The process of becoming whole is a big part of what I offer in counseling for both partners.

    Compassion

I use a direct yet empathetic approach to relationship restoration. Let's understand each other with kindness and the mutual goal of alleviating distress.

    Acceptance

Validation of how you are feeling is crucial to stabilization of a relationship. Being vulnerable and sharing the truth of who you are is an invaluable tool in restoring your love affair.
